Seeing The World Through ADHD Eyes?

These days, it seems like everywhere I turn – I am reminded of the struggle with ADHD. I see a situation, and immediately have an “aha” moment where I am running to my computer to write down yet another lesson learned. Or maybe I just find another way to connect with my clients… Whatever it is, the connection is so powerful that I am literally seeing “ADHD”everywhere.

For example – last week I was watching the television show Nip/Tuck. I really enjoy that show. Great characters and a pretty decent storyline. But that’s not the point. The real point is that I spent more time running back and forth between the living room and the computer sitting on my kitchen counter.

Why?

This particular episode was oozing with incredibly powerful lessons and nuggets of information that I thought just spoke to me about how to understand ADHD… It said a lot about how we can understand our struggles and finding success in the face of ongoing frustration and stress.

Not to be confusing – but I am NOT suggesting that ADHD is everywhere. Rather, I have become so attuned to helping others with ADHD that I?

Do you have ADHD eyes?

  • Do they help you or hurt you?

While my ADHD eyes help me see ways of connecting and sharing with my clients, I am very aware that as a parent of a child with ADHD, it is very easy constantly see frustration…  to see the struggle…  to experience the constant pressure and build up of helping your child…

When I can’t sleep because I want to write down an idea, it is incredibly different than tossing and turning all night long trying to figure out the next battle.
